Welcome to all things strange, spooky, scary, and Halloween related!
Yep, that’s me, the little skeleton baby! Ever since I was little, Halloween has been my FAVORITE holiday. I get demented about about this day the way most other holiday fanatics go (chest)nuts for tinsel and cute little Christmas villages. From the age of about three and up, around mid-July or so, I’d start prepping by locking myself in the basement and watching vampire movies and the Charlie Brown and Garfield Halloween specials, I would cut little holes in tissues and leave them around the house as ” ghost decorations”, I would take trips with my older brother through the “haunted woods” in our backyard where we’d tell ghost stories, and try to imitate the “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” atmosphere we watched every Saturday night on Snick. I would dream about what costume I would choose, the metric ton of candy I would gather and consume, and would beg my mom to take my brother and I Halloween shopping, despite the fact that there wouldn’t even be a hint of Halloween merchandise in stores for at least a month and a half. As I grew older, my prepping became a little more advanced than tissue ghosts, but I’ve always kept my passion for Hallowe’en.
Aside from my overzealous prepping for my personal Holy Day, I have always loved all things strange, creepy, bizarre, terrifying, weird, spooky, macabre, haunting, spine-tingling, thought-provoking, and dark. Halloween is important to me because it’s origins are related to pagan traditions and an appreciation for Nature as a whole. It also allows people to act in ways which they normally wouldn’t, including dress, of course, and reminds us all to not take life, or death, too seriously.
So, the purpose of this blog will be to post anything related to the Dark and to Halloween! I’ll be posting pictures, crafts, costumes, recipes, books, movies, shows;anything and everything Halloween-related!
